Boston – The Human Resources Division (HRD) has announced the 2015 Police Officer (Municipal and MBTA Transit Police) examination. This examination is scheduled for Saturday, April 25, 2015 with a last filing date of March 13, 2015. A late fee will be applied to applications filed after March 13, 2015, so we ask that candidates be encouraged to apply early. Applications will not be accepted after March 26, 2015. NE Patriots AFC Championship Game Counterfeit Ticket Arrests in Somerville

Somerville – On Thursday, January 15, 2015, Somerville Police received a call from Billerica Police relating that a Billerica resident had reported that he had bought counterfeit Patriots tickets (for the AFC championship game on 1/17/15) from a person via Craigslist. This transaction had taken place at the Holiday Inn, Somerville, earlier in the day. He had paid $900 for the four counterfeit tickets. Two Men Sentenced In Connection With Billerica Home Invasion Resulting In Murder

WOBURN – Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan has announced that two men were sentenced today after being convicted of charges in connection with a home invasion in Billerica on July 7, 2012 during which Quintin Koehler, 22, of Billerica was shot and killed. Peter Bin, 27, of Peabody, was convicted on December 19 by a jury in Middlesex Superior Court on a charge of first degree felony murder. Bin was sentenced by Middlesex Superior Court Judge Kathe Tuttman to life in prison without parole. Narcotic Arrest

Billerica – This past fall, the East Bridgewater Police Department contacted Billerica PD with intelligence pertaining to the distribution of marijuana by a resident of Billerica. The resident, Glenn Corbett, was alleged to be involved in receiving multi-pound packages of marijuana that were being shipped to various locations in the East Bridgewater area and subsequently returned to Billerica. On December 30, 2014, the East Bridgewater Police arrested Mr. Corbett in their town with a package containing approximately 9 pounds of marijuana.
