The Billerica Police Department has taken numerous reports this year involving scams amounting to thousands of dollars in losses to residents. Many of these scams involve the use of Green Dot MoneyPak cards, MyVanilla reload cards, Paypal prepaid cards and others. The Green Dot MoneyPak is a cash reload product that can be used to reload a prepaid debit card, add money to a PayPal account without using a bank account or to make same-day payments to major companies. BPD Officer Charged with Assault and Battery

 BILLERICA — Chief Daniel Rosa reports that the Billerica Police Department, after an investigation, has filed criminal charges against a Billerica police officer in connection with an incident at the Billerica Elks Club. A criminal complaint has been issued against JOHN HICKEY, AGE 47, a 19-year veteran of the police department on charges of assault and battery, and assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon (to wit: a shod foot). Robbery Suspect Arrested

BILLERICA — Chief Daniel Rosa reports that the Billerica Police Department arrested a man for robbery at a local store on Friday evening, and it turned out that the suspect also had three outstanding arrest warrants. FREDDIE PEREZ-ERAUSQUIN, AGE 27, OF SPRINGFIELD was arrested after police responded to the CVS/Pharmacy on Boston Road at 7:15 p.m. Friday. PEREZ-ERAUSQUIN allegedly walked into the store and approached a cashier to make a purchase. When the register drawer was open, he allegedly leaned over, grabbed cash, and fled. Billerica Woman Charged with B&E Nightime and Destruction of Property

Billerica – On Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at approximately 1:30 AM, Billerica PD received an emergency call for glass breaking at an apartment unit located at #28 Kenmar Drive, Billerica. Officers arrived to find an unsecured second floor apartment door that had obvious damage consistent with being forced open. After checking the apartment, officers determined that there were no occupants present. They further discovered extensive damage to the inside of the apartment, including multiple hammer sized holes through various mirrors, glass, a bathtub and a sink.
