Man Arrested After Stabbing On Marlyn Rd
BPD officers and EMS responded to Marlyn Rd on 8/26/11 at approximately 8:18 PM for what was reported as an altercation in the street that resulted in a stabbing. Officers MacEachern, Taylor and Boulette arrived almost immediately and rendered medical care to the victim until paramedics arrived. Witnesses reported that the suspect fled in a blue Jeep. The Jeep was registered to Casco St in North Billerica.
Lt Troy Opland was able to intercept the Jeep as it returned to Casco St and Edward Pendleton of 9 Casco St was placed under arrest by Lt Opland and Officer Moran. Pendleton has been charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, armed assault to murder and carrying a dangerous weapon. The victim was transported by Billerica EMS to Lahey Clinic in Burlington with serious injuries. The initial investigation has revealed that this was not a random attack. At this time there is no further information available as the incident continues to be under investigation.
