The Billerica Police Department received a new cruiser today.  It’s a new Ford Interceptor Utility.  This unit is the first BPD cruiser to wear our new graphics design which includes the department badge on the door of the vehicle.  The new “Car 9” will replace the outgoing Crown Victoria assigned to the patrol supervisor.

The Interceptor Utility offers up more flexibility than a traditional sedan with all-wheel-drive and better storage capacity. The Interceptor Utility also boasts better fuel economy than the outgoing Crown Victoria. The Utility is pursuit rated by Ford Motor Company and is manufactured at Ford’s Chicago Assembly Plant.
