Billerica – On Monday, October 1, 2012, Billerica Police received a report from a resident that they have been noticing valuables disappearing from their home. The resident reported that they hired a home health aide to assist with an elderly disabled family member. After conducting an investigation into the matter, Billerica Police charged Allison Rao, 23 years old, of Billerica with various crimes, including larceny and identity fraud. It was determined through the course of the investigation that over the course of many weeks, Rao had stolen cash, credit cards, medication and jewelry, along with the identity of the elderly disabled victim. Rao was a contract employee with a Greater Lowell home health care provider. That provider is aware of the allegations being made against Rao.
