Motorcycle
• No more than three wheels touching the ground
• Must be registered, inspected and insured
• Must have valid learners permit or drivers license
• Must wear helmet and eye protection (unless MC has windscreen)
• Cannot carry passengers or operate between dusk and dawn while only having a permit

Moped
• Bicycle with or without pedals and a motor
• No more than 50cc
• Must have valid learners permit or drivers license
• Must wear a helmet
• Must be registered with decal on back of moped
• Cannot operate faster than 25mph
• Cannot carry passengers or operate between dusk and dawn while only having a permit

Motorized Scooter
• Two or three wheel vehicle that has handlebars and is designed to be stood or sat upon
• Not a motorcycle or moped
• Must have valid learners permit or drivers license
• Must wear a helmet
• Includes motorized skateboards, mini motorcycles and pocket bikes
• Subject to MA motor vehicle laws
• Cannot operate faster than 20mph
• No passengers
• Cannot operate between dusk and dawn (unless equipped with lights)
• Keep right at all times
