Fatal Pedestrian Accident
Billerica – On Wednesday, December 25, 2013 at approximately 7:43 P.M. the Billerica Police received an emergency 911 call for a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian in the area of #770 Boston Road. While en-route to the accident it was learned that the victim was seriously injured and that Good Samaritans had initiated life saving measures in an attempt to save the victim. Within minutes police officers along with Fire Personnel and Advanced Emergency Medical Personnel arrived and took over care of the victim. The victim was transported to Lahey Clinic in Burlington where she was subsequently pronounced deceased from her injuries. The victim was later identified as Insook Choi, 79, of Billerica. The section of Boston Road where the accident occurred was shut down for approximately three hours while the Billerica Police and the Massachusetts State Police Accident Reconstruction Unit conducted its analysis of the scene. At this point it appears the victim was crossing an undesignated area of Boston Road that was poorly lit when the accident occurred. There have been no citation or charges issued.
