Report of Armed Robbery in Billerica. Victim sustained gunshot wound
Billerica – On Saturday, July 8, 2017 at approximately 11pm, the Billerica Police received a 911 call from 7 Millpond Drive in North Billerica reporting a resident had been shot out in front of the home during an attempted armed robbery. Officer arrived within minutes and observed an adult male resident with a single gunshot wound to lower leg. The victim explained that he had just arrived at home from work and was confronted in his driveway by an unknown masked male demanding his money. The suspect was reportedly armed with a firearm during the confrontation. The victim reported that a struggle occurred between himself and the suspect when he was shot in the leg. The suspect reportedly fled on foot up Millpond Drive towards High Street where it is believed he entered a motor vehicle and fled the scene. Billerica K9 along with our NEMLEC K9 partners quickly arrived on scene and conducted an extensive search of the area confirming there were no longer any suspects in the area. The scene was processed with the assistance of the Massachusetts State Police Crime Scene Services Unit. The case is currently being investigated by the Billerica Police Detective Bureau.
