On October, 1, 2017, members of the Billerica Police Department’s Honor Guard drove to Washington D.C., where they arrived late in the evening hours. Early the next morning, the Honor Guard drove to Fort Meyer, Virginia, where they would begin the first day of training with U.S. Army’s 3rd Infantry Regiment (“The Old Guard”). For the next three (3) days they were trained in precise marching, crisp rifle drill and ceremonial missions. This training will enhance our Honor Guard’s ability to properly honor our fallen law enforcement officers and their families for their great sacrifices.
