Man Arrested After Foot Pursuit

Billerica Police | MA Posted on January 8, 2014 by BPD TechMarch 16, 2015

On January 7, 2014 at approximately 11:38 am the Billerica Police Department received a call from a resident on Monticello Circle claiming that there was a suspicious male on their back deck.  While en route, Officer Michelle Glavin observed a male matching the description of the suspicious person on Heritage Rd.  Officer Glavin made contact with the male, Michael Nadolny, and inquired where he was coming from.  Mr. Nadolny responded that he had just finished a run. At the time, there was no evidence that Nadolny had been running or exerting himself.

Sergeant Gualtieri, Officer Rayne and Officer Parker arrived at the scene and a warrant check was performed.  Officers were advised that there was, in fact, an active arrest warrant for Mr. Nadolny.  Upon learning of his imminent arrest, Mr. Nadolny took off running into a back yard and attempted to scale a rock wall before Officer Rayne was able to stop him.  Sergeant Gualtieri and Officer Rayne were both subjected to punches and kicks from Nadolny while trying to place him in handcuffs.  Nadolny was eventually handcuffed successfully.  Both Gualtieri and Rayne sustained some bumps and bruises but no one, including Nadolny, sustained any serious injuries.

Michael Nadolny, 27, formally of Farm St. Billerica, is charged with:

  • Assault & battery on a Police Officer
  • Assault & battery with dangerous weapon (shod foot)
  • Resisting arrest

Mr. Nadolny had no legitimate reason to be at the Monticello residence.

BPD PatchBillerica – On Wednesday, December 25, 2013 at approximately 7:43 P.M. the Billerica Police received an emergency 911 call for a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian in the area of #770 Boston Road. While en-route to the accident it was learned that the victim was seriously injured and that Good Samaritans had initiated life saving measures in an attempt to save the victim. Within minutes police officers along with Fire Personnel and Advanced Emergency Medical Personnel arrived and took over care of the victim. The victim was transported to Lahey Clinic in Burlington where she was subsequently pronounced deceased from her injuries. The victim was later identified as Insook Choi, 79, of Billerica. The section of Boston Road where the accident occurred was shut down for approximately three hours while the Billerica Police and the Massachusetts State Police Accident Reconstruction Unit conducted its analysis of the scene. At this point it appears the victim was crossing an undesignated area of Boston Road that was poorly lit when the accident occurred. There have been no citation or charges issued.
