The Town of Billerica Department of Public Works in coordination with Flow Assessment Services LLC, is currently conducting a sewer study for the purpose of locating sources of storm water inflow to the sanitary system. The testing, explained further in the document linked below, involves the introduction of white smoke into the sewer system. During the procedure, white smoke will be vented from holes in manhole covers located on the street and plumbing vent pipes located near or on your roof surface. There is no need to be home during this testing nor is there any danger associated with this testing.
